How to Access the Iconic Lakes: Lake Louise & Lake Moraine

With two of the most iconic lakes in Banff National Park, Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, this area is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the park. However, reaching these stunning spots can be challenging due to road closures and limited parking. To help make your trip smoother, we’ve compiled a list of shuttle options to simplify your planning and ensure you don’t miss out on these unforgettable sights.

Here are some of the best ways to reach the two iconic lakes:

Fairmont Banff Springs Shuttles to Moraine Lake & Lake Louise

Parks Canada Lake Connector Shuttles

Reserving a spot on the Parks Canada shuttles is another great way to see both lakes in one day. Shuttle reservations must be made in advance through the Parks Canada website. Pick-up is from the Lake Louise Park and Ride, with a variety of departure times available, including 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. for early-morning adventurers!

Roam Transit Shuttles

This year, Roam Transit is introducing the new Reservable Super Pass, which offers unlimited travel on all Roam Transit routes and includes a round-trip on Parks Canada’s Lake Connector Shuttle. A recommended way to visit both lakes is by taking Route 8X from Banff Town to Lake Louise Lakeshore. From there, guests can hop on Parks Canada’s first-come, first-served Lake Connector Shuttle to reach Moraine Lake, departing directly from the lakeshore.
