Banff, October 12, 2023 – For the month of October, the famed Fairmont Banff Springs transforms into the ultimate destination for Halloween enthusiasts to raise their spirits during a series of spooktacular hosted events. From a Day of the Dead-themed extravaganza, to themed scavenger hunts and family-friendly programming, guests and visitors alike are guaranteed a most eerily wonderful time at Canada’s Castle in the Rockies.
Día de los Muertos at Rundle Bar: A Vibrant Celebration of Life (18+ Event) – October 27
In collaboration with one of Mexico’s most respected and acclaimed tequila producers, El Tequileño, visit Fairmont Banff Springs on October 27 for a luxurious Day of the Dead-themed fiesta in the award-winning Rundle Bar. Guests will be immersed in tradition with colorful ofrendas, marigold flowers, and calavera face painting as they take in the captivating melodies of an authentic Mariachi band, and celebrate the night away amongst live dancers and a resident DJ. El Tequileño tasting tables, a specialty cocktail menu, and Mexican culinary delights round out this exciting evening. Don’t forget to look for the grand ice sculpture that pays homage to a special character from the castle’s past.
Prior to the main event, an intimate and exclusive distillers’ dining experience will take place ‘behind the bookcase’ on October 26th, featuring Executive Chef Atticus Garant’s twist on traditional Mexican cuisine, complemented by El Tequileño cocktails skillfully crafted by Fairmont’s Regional Mixologist, Sam Clark. An El Tequileño tasting will be led by Señor Antonio Sallas, the esteemed son of the distillery’s founder – transporting guests from Banff to Mexico with the finest quality spirits in the industry. Family-Friendly Guest Events: Spooky Surprises – October 19-31
For those who dare to delve into the paranormal, our Ghost Tours offer an adventure through the hotel’s eerie past. Historical tours with a ghostly twist will be delivered by performers from Carter Ryan Productions daily, except Mondays, from October 19th to 31st. Spooky scavenger hunts and Halloween craft kits for kids will be also be offered as part of the castle’s guest experience schedule.
