As of September 20, 2021 hotel guests and day visitors over the age of 12 years of age must provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to access all hotel restaurants, bars, spas, pools, retail and any meeting or event held on the property. Masks are mandatory in all indoor public spaces.
A single dose is considered proof of vaccination between September 20th and October 25th if received two weeks before the time of service. Double doses are required from October 25th onward. Negative COVID-19 tests (PCR or rapid) must be taken within 72 hours of service. For more information on current public health measures, please visit the Alberta Government website.
Fairmont Banff Springs will require proof of vaccination to access all Hotel services including:
- Dine in all bars and restaurants
- Events, meetings and conferences
- Access Fairmont Gold Lounge
- Visit the hotel Pools + Fitness Centre + Spa
- Attend the hotel’s fitness classes, Resort Activities and Bowling
At this time, Fairmont Banff Springs will not require proof of vaccination to:
- Book a hotel room or to check into the hotel
- Golf at the Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course
TRAVELLING FROM THE USA?
The Canadian Government recently announced the easing of border restrictions. Please ensure you have read, understood and complied with all Canadian requirements for American citizens and permanent residents travelling into Canada. This includes ArriveCAN’s proof of vaccination documents which are required before crossing the border into Canada. Travellers re-entering the US will need to be tested no more than 72 hours before arriving by air into the United States and show a negative result to the airline before boarding the flight. Via pre-arrival communications, we are asking guests to self-identify if they belong to a risk group for COVID-19; if yes, we ask that they postpone their travels until the risk period has passed, in order to help us ensure the wellbeing of all our guests and employees.
We have increased our staffing of public area attendants to support increased frequency of cleaning surfaces with recommended cleaning agents, with particular focus on high touch, high traffic areas.

Our highly respected housekeeping team at Fairmont Banff Springs will go beyond the standards of room and suite preparation, deep cleaning surfaces with use of EPA-registered disinfectant chemicals proven effective in preventing the transmission of COVID-19 by scientific experts to kill bacteria and viruses.
Meetings & Events
We are excited to welcome you back for meetings & events at Fairmont Banff Springs. Our team will be provided with masks and we have increased the number of sanitizer stands in event spaces to keep your attendees and our colleagues safe.
Colleague Training & Safety
Our colleagues will each receive COVID-19 related training and retooling with guidance and reminders to: Stay home if not well, wash hands repeatedly and thoroughly, wear masks while at work and follow all safety protocols for their particular responsibilities and guest interactions. It’s important to us that both our guests and our colleagues are safe and well.
We’ve taken contactless to a whole new level with our pre-arrival e-mails and ‘Kipsu’ text message guest communications with our Royal Service Team. Our Weekly Resort Guide will be sent to you electronically upon request with updated restaurant hours, services available and information about the available resort activities.
