ALLSafe – Your Safety in Mind
Please know that our top priority remains the safety, care and wellbeing of our Fairmont Banff Springs family. Welcoming, safeguarding and taking care of others is at the very heart of what we do and who we are. At this moment, this means keeping our guests and colleagues safe by preventing the spread of COVID-19 – partnering with top experts to implement new standards of safety and enhanced operational protocols and procedures which are among the most stringent in the hospitality industry.
The new operational standards being implemented at Fairmont Banff Springs and at Accor properties across North & Central America were developed and vetted by a team of expert advisors to ensure maximum efficacy in preventing the spread of all viruses and pathogens, including COVID-19, with oversight by Bureau Veritas, a world leader in testing, inspections and certification; Dr. Amesh Adalja, Senior Scholar at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Health Security & fellow with the Infectious Diseases Society of America; and Ruth Petran, Ph.D., CFS, Senior Corporate Scientist, Food Safety and Public Health, for Ecolab, global leaders in cleaning and hygiene, and trusted advisors to the CDC.

PLEASE NOTE: Beginning April 9th, access to Fairmont Banff Springs will be restricted to registered hotel guests and visitors with Willow Stream Spa reservations. STOCK Food & Drink will be available for visitors to take away. For your safety and the safety of our employees, we require all guests to wear a face mask while inside the hotel.
Via pre-arrival communications, we are asking guests to self-identify if they belong to a risk group for COVID-19; if yes, we ask that they postpone their travels until the risk period has passed, in order to help us ensure the wellbeing of all our guests and employees. Each guest will receive communication from the hotel prior to arrival providing additional information on arrival process, including mandatory screening, online check-in, hotel services & amenities, fast checkout, and more.
Guests will see ALL Safe and Well signage and digital communications visible throughout the property encouraging social distancing, hand washing and use of sanitizer. Social distancing is encouraged with floor decals to assist in guiding guests to engage in best practices for the protection of themselves and others. We have increased our staffing of public area attendants to support increased frequency of cleaning surfaces with recommended cleaning agents, with particular focus on high touch, high traffic areas.
Guest Rooms & SUITES
Our highly respected housekeeping team at Fairmont Banff Springs will go beyond the standards of room and suite preparation, deep cleaning surfaces with use of EPA-registered disinfectant chemicals proven effective in preventing the transmission of COVID-19 by scientific experts to kill bacteria and viruses.
To limit the frequency of our housekeeping team entering your room, we will only service a guest room on the third night of any stay.
Hotel guests may join us daily for patio & take-away dining at The Vermillion Room and STOCK Food & Drink. We have also enhanced our In Room Dining offerings at this time so you can enjoy the best of the Castle’s culinary creations in the privacy of your room. We are excited to offer our In-Suite Brunch and Dinner experiences to those looking for a fully private, yet unforgettable, meal in a specially-prepared suite (In-Suite Dining must be reserved 24 hours in advance, subject to availability).
Patio seating is limited to 6 people per table maximum (individuals must be from the same household or the two close contacts for a person living alone), contact information must be collected from one person in each party, liquor service ends at 10:00pm and in-person patio dining must close by 11:00pm.
Our resort activities team has been working hard to make sure you experience the best of Banff while staying safe during your stay. Choose from guided private experiences, private campfires on our hotel terrace, wilderness walks and so much more!
Meetings & Events
Our meetings and event team will collaborate with planners to re-imagine their meetings with new meeting sets, food service protocols and entertainment/team building options that enable social distancing and reduce the number of guests touching surfaces and equipment. Heightened cleanliness standards will be in place within our meeting space and our colleagues will be cleaning areas more frequently during meeting sessions and event breaks. Our staff will be provided the appropriate personal protective equipment, such as masks to keep your attendees and our colleagues safe.
Colleague Training & Safety
Our colleagues will each receive COVID-19 related training and retooling with guidance and reminders to: Stay home if not well, wash hands repeatedly and thoroughly, wear masks while at work and follow all safety protocols for their particular responsibilities and guest interactions. All colleagues will participate in mandatory health screenings which include temperature checks upon entrance to the resort. It’s important to us that both our guests and our colleagues are safe and well.
We’ve taken contactless to a whole new level with our pre-arrival e-mails and ‘Kipsu’ text message guest communications with our Royal Service Team. Our Weekly Resort Guide will be sent to you electronically upon request with updated restaurant hours, services available and information about the available resort activities.
