Adopting A Pet in Banff

Adopting A Pet in Banff

Cats & Pups Spend the Day at Fairmont Banff Springs

Fairmont Banff Springs invited adoptable pets from the Bow Valley SPCA, Canada’s first no kill, no cage adoption centre, to visit our “Castle in the Rockies” to help them find their fur-ever home.

Check out these adorable animals that we were lucky enough to welcome as hotel guests and are currently available for adoption. Have you fallen in love with one of their adoptees?  Submit an application to the Bow Valley SPCA here.

Matilda – Female, 2 years & 8 months

With brown soulful eyes and a heart of gold, Matilda is ready to come home. This active Rhodesian Ridgeback will keep you on your toes and is looking for a companion that is just active as she is. Matilda has become reactive to other dogs as she was attacked as a pup. All she is looking for a nice yard, a bone and someone to love her.

Favourite hobbies: Hitting the trails less-travelled & cuddling!

Things to keep in mind: Matilda will need someone who is willing to put in the work to make her feel comfortable and keep her away from other canines.

Grover – Male, 3 years & 7 months

Meet Grover!  This loyal and goofy Mastiff spent a year in a loving home but the pandemic has brought him back to the Bow Valley SPCA. No worries though, he’s fitting right back in and has learnt some new tricks during his stay such as sit, touch, laydown, shake paw and his favourite –  ‘give me a belly rub’! While Grover may drool a bit and is a little overwhelmed by the hustle bustle of urban life, he is always down for either a couch day or a day where he can show off his strength and expel some energy!

Favourite Hobby: Showing off my toys

Things to keep in mind: Grover loves a good hike but appreciates the trails with less people and other canines. He also loves tiny humans too but because of his size, he might accidentally knock them over. Grover is very loyal and can be protective of the person(s) he loves the most. Cats aren’t his thing, but the right dog could be!

Olive – Female, 3 years & 3 months

This shy lady is looking for a home that will let her come out of her shell – quiet but purrfect, Olive loves getting head rubs and knows that there is more  of her to love. While she doesn’t mind other felines, she prefers to be the queen of her domain and the queen of her companion’s heart.

Favourite Hobbies: Hide and seek! Word to the wise – a box is a great place to hide!

Things to keep in mind: Olive can be playful but only when comfortable.

Scarlet & Mason – Female & Male, 4 months

These two adorable buds made their way to the Bow Valley SPCA with a group of other kittens who may or may not be their siblings. Hey, we’re not here to judge – just to provide some snuggles! The other loveable kittens have already found their furrever home.
