Fairmont Banff Springs Reveals Multi-Million Dollar Spa Expansion

February 6, 2020

BANFF, AB – Today, Fairmont Banff Springs revealed the completed expansion of its award-winning The Fairmont Spa. The highly anticipated $3.5 million redevelopment project that began in September 2019 has been officially unveiled after a five-month refurbishment.

Heeding the needs of Fairmont’s most discerning guests, the expansion introduces a Deluxe Couple’s Suite treatment room fully equipped with an in-room dual-sided fireplace, soaker tub, and oversized spa shower, as well as three additional treatment rooms and a new 12-chaise quiet Relaxation Lounge. An expanded full-service Beauty Salon boasts ceiling-high Calacatta marble walls and custom watercolour murals with rare Tineo flat cut veneer detailing and copper finishing.

Fairmont Spa guests will be warmly welcomed into the reimagined Spa Reception and Boutique featuring Nordic gray stone flooring with subtle copper accents, air slate veneer feature walls, custom watercolour murals of Banff’s evergreen trees, as well as rich forest green leather and velvet banquettes in the waiting lounge. The expansion, led by Calgary-based IBI Group, increased the Fairmont Spa from 38,000 square feet in size to 40,260 square feet of spa and fitness facilities.

“The expansion and design mindfully marry the natural elements renowned at Fairmont Spawhile paying homage to our unique locale in Banff National Park,” says Pam Ouellet, Spa Director at Fairmont Banff Springs. “We are delighted to offer an elevated spa experience to our guests and to offer additional space for treatment, salon and wellness services whether guests are on a romantic couples retreat or a girlfriends’ getaway.”
