Santa Celebrates a Christmas Do-Over and Announces Feature Festive Programming
BANFF, AB – With many people not being able to spend Christmas with their loved ones in 2020, Santa wanted to get a jump start on 2021 festive planning. So he jetted from the North Pole to Banff, Alberta, Canada this summer. The goal: to make a splash by announcing his Christmas do-over of 2021! And with it, the details of the ultimate Christmas at the Castle experience at Fairmont Banff Springs.
Fairmont Banff Springs’ Winter Wonderland
A new outdoor winter experience – The Winter Wonderland – will be coming to the Castle for the holiday and winter season. Surrounded by panoramic views and winter-themed décor, the magical venue will be home to an intimate skating rink, private fire pits and a mini-curling rink, plus locally-sourced wine and beer, and house-made snacks served from a rustic cabin.
Christmas Concert Series
Fairmont Banff Springs will be hosting its first-ever Christmas Concert Series this year. The live experience will showcase Canadian musicians that will jingle all the way through the holidays with Christmas classics and beloved melodies to get into the festive spirit.
Private Dining Venues
Santa’s Dining Room & Lounge will be returning to Fairmont Banff Springs this year. The two Christmas-themed private dining venues feature extravagant festive décor and are available for private bookings for a traditional family-style Christmas dinner.
Outside on the Upper Bow Valley Terrace in the new 360° Dome, guests will enjoy festive furnishings and Rocky Mountain views while enjoying a family-style Christmas brunch or a gourmet six-course menu with a surprise visit from the Big Guy himself.
Festive Afternoon Tea
The beloved 133-year-old tradition of Afternoon Tea will be served in the Riverview Lounge during the holiday season. The must-do experience will feature a live pianist, a Christmas-themed menu and a glass of sparkling to cheers to the festive season.
New Year’s Eve
Guests will ring in the New Year with an incredible lineup of dining and events:
- Indulge in a four or seven-course dinner plus wine pairings at 1888 Chop House
- Celebrate New Year’s Eve in The Vermillion Room with an extravagant dinner buffet and a DJ for a family-friendly event
- Experience the first New Year’s Eve party at the recently renovated Rundle Bar with live music, roaming entertainment and incredible cocktails
- Feast on a six-course dinner in the 360° Dome, which includes access to the Rundle Bar NYE party
- Treat yourself to Castello Italiana’s delectable table d’hôte menu
The North Pole & Santa’s Bar
The Gatehouse Foyer will be transforming into the North Pole this holiday season and will be home to festive family programming including arts, crafts, and photos with their favourite Christmas characters, plus Paint & Sip nights for the adults. Meanwhile, Santa’s Bar, which is situated at the Ramsay Bar above the North Pole, will feature festive hand-crafted cocktails and over-the-top Christmas décor.
Santa Suites
Fairmont Banff Springs’ Santa Suites will be returning to the Castle this holiday season. New in 2019, the festive guestrooms are specially decorated by Cory Christopher and feature custom Christmas décor exclusive to each room.
