New – Winter 2022: The Winter Wonderland

Surrounded by panoramic views and winter-themed décor, The Winter Wonderland is home to an intimate skating rink, private fire pits and a mini-curling rink, plus locally-sourced wine and beer, and house-made snacks served from a rustic cabin.

The Winter Wonderland is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to hotel guests.

November 2021: Suite & Guestroom Renovations

Fairmont Banff Springs has announced it is embarking on a $35 million CAD renovation of its suites and guestrooms.

The extensive renovation of the Royal Suite, Fairmont Gold rooms, select one and two bedroom suites, and terrace suites began in January 2022 and are anticipated to be completed in summer 2022. The refurbishment of all main building and conference centre guestrooms began in spring 2021 and are anticipated to be completed in spring 2023.

New – November 2021: Fairmont Banff Springs’ Rundle Bar Renovation Named “Best Of Canada” In Hospitality Design

The recently renovated Rundle Bar at Fairmont Banff Springs has been presented with the 2021 Canadian Interiors “Best of Canada” award in hospitality for its interior design.

The main hotel bar’s CAD $5 million refurbishment was unveiled in July 2020 after a six-month renovation and was designed by Calgary-based FRANK Architecture.

November 2021: Christmas At The Castle

Fairmont Banff Springs transforms into Christmas at the Castle every holiday season with festive décor, exceptional dining experiences and holiday programming.

From private gourmet dining in Santa’s Dining Room & Lounge and extravagant festive buffets in The Vermillion Room to family-friendly activities in the North Pole and specially decorated Santa Suites with custom Christmas décor exclusive to each room, the spirit of Christmas is alive at the “Castle in the Rockies”.

July 2021: Castle Cocktail Series

Fairmont Banff Springs has unveiled a new bottled cocktail series – the Castle Cocktail Series. The new signature bottled cocktails are ready-to-drink cocktails specially crafted by their skilled mixologists and includes the Wildflower, Maple Shaft, and Old Fashioned.

The Castle Cocktail Series are $23 per bottle and $65 for the series, and can be purchased from STOCK Food & Drink.

July 2021: The Suite Life

Fairmont Banff Springs is making travel a lot sweeter for guests that book the new “Suite Life” offer. Guests staying in one bedroom, two bedroom, terrace, and Signature Collection suites will now enjoy additional incentives, including personal holiday planning and virtually perfect service with a dedicated Suite Concierge, plus a plethora of perks such as complimentary parking and breakfast, and a personalized welcome amenity.

Guests staying in Signature Collection suites will also receive complimentary spa access at the Fairmont Spa and a welcome drink from the recently renovated Rundle Bar.

June 2021: New Dining Experiences in the 360° Dome

Guests can now enjoy two new dining experiences in the 360° Dome.

The Sunrise Breakfast is now available in the private dining venue from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. daily, which includes a family-style continental breakfast for $75 per person. Guests are also invited to delight in the Late Night Experience, which includes a pitcher of draft beer or a frozen cocktail paired with a house-made snack platter for a $250 rental fee from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The Rundle Bar menu will be available for Late Night.

June 2021: Cocktail Classes In The Rundle Bar

The recently renovated Rundle Bar’s talented cocktail curators are hosting cocktail classes at 3:00 p.m. daily. Guests are invited to shake up happy hour and to learn from their skilled bartenders how to make their Signature Bottled Cocktails.

Guests will enjoy light snacks during the class and take home a personally-bottled cocktail for $49 per person. The experience is limited to eight guests.

May 2021: Signature Bottled Cocktails

When guests visit Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper they drink it all in: the scenery, the adventure, the fine dining, the luxurious accommodation, and the legendary service. Now guests can drink it in – literally – with new Signature Bottled Cocktails from each of the three resorts – Fairmont Banff Springs, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, and Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge – introduced just in time for World Cocktail Day.

This tipple trifecta, which includes Fairmont Banff Springs’ Wildflower, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise’s Iconic Peak and Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge’s Emerald Glow, was created by Nils Schabert, regional manager of mixology for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in Canada’s Western Mountain Region.

February 2021: 360° Dome Outdoor Dining

Fairmont Banff Springs has unveiled a new private outdoor dining experience. Located on the picturesque Upper Garden Terrace, the 360° Dome is reservable for an extravagant family-style brunch in the morning, an intimate Grapes Wine & Charcuterie experience in the afternoon, and a five-course gourmet menu in the evening.

The well-appointed outdoor dining venue can accommodate 2-6 guests. Brunch and après are $125 per person and the five-course dinner is $200 per person.

January 2021: In-Suite Dining Experience

The “Castle in the Rockies” has launched a heightened In-Suite Dining Experience to hotel guests. Guests are invited to enjoy a private family-style brunch or dinner in the comfort of a specially prepared suite or their own guest room.

Executive Chef Robert Ash’s gourmet family-style menu is paired with two complimentary cocktails and a bottle of sparkling wine for $399 per couple. The In-Suite Brunch includes make-your-own mimosa ingredients and features brunch favourites such as eggs benedict and buttermilk pancakes for $199 per couple.

Winter 2021 & Summer 2020: Private Resort Activity Experiences

Fairmont Banff Springs’ Resort Activity Animators have introduced new private experiences to encourage guests to connect with nature while enjoying some of the world’s most stunning landscapes.

From exclusive guided adventures to evening snowshoe tours, these guided experiences allow guests to be fully immersed in the landscape, history, culture and adventure that lives in Banff National Park.

July 2020: Rundle Bar Reopens Following Multi-Million Dollar Renovation

Rundle Bar, the main hotel bar and the original main lobby of the historic Banff Springs, saw a multi-million dollar renovation in 2020. The renovated space boasts an impressive two-story main bar, a newly appointed cocktail bar on Mezzanine II and an expansive speakeasy-style private room on the main level masked by bookshelves and floor-to-ceiling doors.

Executive Chef Robert Ash unveiled a new menu featuring traditional afternoon tea and classic lounge favourites complemented by globally-influenced Pan Asian dishes, while the bar serves impressive hand-crafted cocktails, local craft beer and an extensive wine list.

July 2020: Rundle Bar Launches Signature Gin

The Rundle Bar has launched a signature Rundle Bar Gin in partnership with Canmore-based Wild Life Distillery, which can be tasted in cocktails throughout the hotel and purchased at STOCK Food & Drink.

The locally-distilled gin features butterfly pea flower to create a vibrant purple hue when citrus and tonic is added, and is paired with flavorful botanical ingredients including juniper, coriander, lemon and grapefruit peel as well as angelica, orris and licorice root, to create a perfectly balanced floral gin.

January 2020: The Spa Reveals Expansion

The highly anticipated $3.5 million redevelopment of the Spa was unveiled in January 2020. The expansion introduced an additional 4,000 square feet, including a re-imagined Spa Reception and an expanded full-service Beauty Salon, plus the addition of three treatment rooms, a Deluxe Couple’s Suite treatment room and a new 12-seat quiet lounge.

Spring 2019: The Ultimate Suite Experience

Travelers searching for the height of luxury in the Canadian Rockies can now look no further with the reveal of Fairmont Banff Springs’ Signature Suite Collection.

The highly anticipated suites open their doors after a significant multi-million dollar investment and an 18-month redevelopment in May 2019. Combining intimacy and sophistication, the Signature Suite Collection provides elevated amenities and unparalleled offerings; including butler-inspired service, a private reception and VIP concierge desk, and Signature in-room breakfast.

May 2019: Eat The Castle Named Signature Canadian Experience

After only a year in operation, the Eat the Castle culinary tour was named a Canadian Signature Experience by Destination Canada.

This experiential tour in partnership with Alberta Food Tours invites guests to enjoy luxurious food and beverage pairings at four onsite restaurants while a local guide brings the stories of the Castle to life.

May 2019: Golf A Canadian Masterpiece

2019 marked the 30th anniversary of the Tunnel Mountain 9 Hole Course at The Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course.

The award-winning Stanley Thompson 18 Hole Course opened in 1932 is considered by many to be one of the finest golf courses in the world.

Spring 2018: French Bar & Brasserie Joins The Castle’s Culinary Story

The Vermillion Room, a French-inspired bar and brasserie designed by FRANK Architecture, opened in May 2018 after a multi-million dollar renovation.

The 250-seat venue serves Parisian elegance with Canadian charm and features an extravagant breakfast service, French-inspired dishes and hand-crafted cocktails.
